Of Faith
1.
We believe that the King James Bible 1611 is
the fully, providentially, preserved and inspired infallible Word of God, and
therefore our only authority in matters of faith an practice. It is the only one
to be used for preaching and teaching in our pulpit and classrooms. (2
Tim.3:16,17; 2 Pet.1:21;
2.
We believe the true God is the God of the Scriptures, who is
Spirit, infinite, eternal, perfect and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power,
holiness, justice, goodness and truth. (John 4:24; Ps.90:2; Ps.147:5; Rev.4:9;
Ex.34:6,7.)
3.
We believe there is only one true God and thus only one Savior who
must be accepted for salvation.
4.
We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead - One God eternally existing in
three persons:
Father,
Son and Holy Spirit; same in essence, equal in power and glory. (Matt.28:19; 2
Cor.13:14) The Father is God (1 Cor.8:6), the Son is God(Isa.9:6; John 1:1 &
1:14; Heb.1:8-10), and the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4).
5.
We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God and
God the Son, who is and has always been God. He did not lay aside His Deity even
in His humiliation. (John1:1-2, Heb.1:81)
6.
We believe in the Deity of the Holy Spirit who:
1.
Convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment.
2.
Bears witness to the truth.
3.
Seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies and helps believers. 4.
Indwells every true child of God.
(John
16:8,13; John 14:26; Eph.1:13; Eph.2:16; Rom.8:9,13,14,16,27.)
7.
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ who is very God of
God yet became a man, miraculously begotten of the Holy Ghost, born of the
virgin Mary and is still a man in His glorified body. (Matt.1:20; 1 Tim.2:5])
8.
We believe in His substitutionary death - that the Son of God gave
"His life a ransom for many", and "bore our sins in His own body
on the tree." (Mark 10:45, 1 Pet.2:24, John 1:12 - "But as many as
received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that
believe on His name..."
9.
We believe in the bodily Resurrection of the Lord Jesus
Christ; that He ascended and is now at the Father's right hand as our high
Priest and Advocate. (1 Cor.15:3,4; Heb.8: 1)
10.
We believe the Rapture to be the return of Christ - bodily,
personal, premillenneal and pretribulational - in the air, for His saints both
dead and alive.
(1
Thess.4:13-17, 1 Cor.15:51-53; 1 Thess.1:10; Rev. 3:10)
11.
We believe the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to be the Imminent,
Visible, Glorious and Bodily Return of our Lord Jesus Christ to the earth as
Premillennial. (Zech. 14:4; Acts 1:11 Matt.24:27-30. )
12. We
believe in the reality and personality of Satan as:
1.
Originator of all powers of darkness and sin. 2. The god of this worldly system
of evil. 3. Destined to the judgment of the lake of fire.
(1
John 3:8, John 8:44; 2 Cor.4:4, Rev.20:10.)
13.
We believe in the creation of the universe and man by a direct act
of God, not by a process of evolution. (Gen. 1:1, Col. 1:16, Rev. 4:11.)
14.
We believe in the universal Depravity of Mankind and therefore in
Man's necessity of regeneration through the Holy Spirit of God and faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom.5:12, Rom.3:10 & 23.)
15.
We believe that faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ is
the only condition for salvation. Salvation is by God's
g_ race, not man's effort or any of his "good"
works. (Tit.3:5; Rom.4:5, 5:8, 6:23; 10:9-10.)
16.
We believe that faith in Jesus Christ is that saving faith whereby we receive
and rest upon the
of
Jesus Christ alone for salvation. This is followed by repentance.
17.
We believe there are 2 Church Ordinances:
a.
Baptist by immersion
b.
The Lord's Supper - or Communion (Matt. 28:19;1 Cor.11:23-26)
18.
We believe baptism is an ordinance instituted by the Lord Jesus
Christ for believers to be immersed in water, signifying the
fellowship with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. Baptism is a
prerequisite to Church membership. (Acts 2:41, Rom.6:4) We believe baptism is
administered by dipping the whole body of the person in water, in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, according to Christ's
institution and the practice of the apostles, and not by sprinkling, or by
pouring water or dipping some part of the body, after the tradition of men.
(Acts 8:38; John 3:23;
19.
We believe the Lord's supper is an ordinance
instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ for the remembrance of His death until
He comes, and expressing symbolically our union with Christ; it
should always be proceeded by a solemn self-examination. (1 Cor. 11:23,24,28) We
believe that only those who have believed, and in obedience to Christ, have been
baptized by immersion, and are walking orderly in Church membership, as this was
the commandment of Christ and the practice of the N.T. Church, should partake of
the Lord's supper. (Matt.28:19,20; Acts 41,42; 1 Cor.5:11; 2 Cor.3:14])
20. We
believe what the Bible teaches about infant baptism, which is: Nothing!
21.
We believe that good works before or after salvation do not save the soul, for
it is Christ's complete work that alone saves, although, if saved, good works
will follow to reveal salvation. (Eph.2:10, Jam.2:18)
22.
We believe the local, visible N.T. Church is a body of believers immersed upon a
credible confession of faith in Jesus Christ, having 2 offices (Pastor and
Deacons), organized, independent, self-governing and voluntarily associated
together for the service of God, observance of the ordinances and the worldwide
proclamation of the Gospel. (Acts 2:41,42; Acts 20:7; Matt.28:19,20; Acts 1:8.)
23. We
believe in the Great Commission given by our Lord to His Church to
evangelize the world, and that this evangelization is the great mission of the
Church. (Matt.28:19)
24. We
believe that those believers who have died before Christ's return will be raised
from this earth and caught up with transformed living saints to meet the Lord in
the air before the millennial reign, while the wicked dead will be raised at the
close of the millennial kingdom and stand in their bodies at the Great White
Throne Judgment to receive their final doom. (1 Thess.4:16, John 5:29;
Rev.20:11-12)
25.
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ has promised that He would preserve all
who would come unto Him and no true believer will ever perish. (John l:27-29;
John 6:37; Phil. 1-6- Rom.8:35-39.)
26.
We believe true believers can never again live in sin as before conversion and
those professors who continue to live in sin evidence the fact that they have
never been born again. Though not sinlessly perfect, the child of God , by his
new nature, will seek to live righteously. He or she may backslide, but God will
chastise, or even take the life of His erring child, so that no true enjoyment
or continuance in sin is possible. (Phil.3:12; Rom.6:14, 1 John 3:10; Heb.12:6)
27.
We believe the Scriptures teach concerning separation that all
believers are to be separate from:
1.
This worldly evil age.
2.
Yoking with unbelievers.
3.
False teachers of those "which cause divisions and offences contrary to the
doctrine which ye have learned." (Rom.16:17)
4.
Anything about which the Holy Spirit has convicted them. (1 John 2:15; 2
Cor.6:14-7:1; Rom.16:17; 2 John 10; Rom.14:23.)
28.
We believe as Fundamental Separatists we should also be separate
from the world Council Of Churches and the National Council of Churches and
those organizations who are its members or supporters. We believe New
Evangelicalism is a moral and Theological compromise of the deadliest sort. It
is an insidious attack upon the Word of God.
29. We
affirm our Biblical convictions that the Charismatic Movement, while
containing some who are no doubt genuine and sincere believers, is based upon a
misunderstanding of the teaching of Scripture regarding the spiritual gifts,
particularly the gift of tongues, which gift was bestowed as a special sign to
the nation Israel and as an authentication of the apostolic message, and not as
a gift to continually and normally exercise in Christ's churches throughout this
dispensation. We stand firmly opposed to the experience-centered, un-Scriptural
emphasis of the Charismatic Movement. (1Cor.13:8-10;
Heb.2:34)
30.
We believe this Confession of Faith is true to the Word of God,
and is therefore binding upon us as Christian believers. This Confession of
Faith does not exhaust our faith since the whole Bible is our only infallible,
inerrant rule for faith and practice. (2 Tim.3 :16,17. )
